How to configure the save for later feature

Save for later lets logged-in customers move items out of their cart into a saved list instead of deleting them — turning “not right now” into a future purchase. Saved items live in the Your Saves tab of the Caddy cart, where they can be moved back to the cart in one click.

Enabling it

Go to Caddy > Settings > Save for Later and make sure Enable Save for Later is on (it’s enabled by default). Customers must be logged in to save items — logged-out shoppers see your welcome message inviting them to create an account, which is itself a nice list-building nudge.

Save buttons on shop and product pages (Pro)

Caddy Pro can also show save buttons outside the cart:

  • Save button on shop page — adds a save button to product thumbnails on shop/archive pages, positioned top-left or top-right of the thumbnail.
  • Save button on product page — adds a save button to single product pages.

The save icon (heart or bookmark) and its colors are set in the style customizer.

Linking to saved items

Use the [cc_saved_items text='Saves' icon='yes'] shortcode to add a saved-items link (with live count) to a menu or any page, or pick a menu under Caddy > Settings > General > Add Saves Widget to Menu.
