Caddy’s licensing feature recognizes and supports several popular hosting services within the WordPress community. When activating your license on one of the following hosted staging environments, that activation does not count towards your activation limit:
- WP Engine
- InstaWP
- Cloudways
- Kinsta
- GoDaddy
- FlyWheel
- BlueHost
- HostGator
- SiteGround
If your host is not listed here, they might use a standard method for creating staging sites. In such cases, Caddy’s Standard Detection rules should work without the need for specific adjustments.
Standard Staging Environments For hosting providers that either do not offer a specialized tool for staging environment creation or use standard URLs for their staging environments, Caddy supports the following subdomain patterns as WordPress Staging Site URLs:
- *.staging.example.org
- *.test.example.org
- staging-*.example.org
- dev.example.org
