Your Caddy Pro license key unlocks all Pro features and enables one-click plugin updates. You’ll find the key in your purchase receipt email and in your account on usecaddy.com — see where can I find my license key?
Activating your license
- With Caddy Pro installed and activated, go to Caddy > Licenses in your WordPress admin.
- Paste your key into the License Key field and save.
- Click Activate License.
When activation succeeds, the status shows Active with a green checkmark, and all Pro features unlock immediately.
Common activation errors
- “Your license key expired on …” — renew your license from your usecaddy.com account to keep receiving updates and support.
- “Your license key has reached its activation limit.” — your plan’s site limit is used up. Deactivate the license on a site you no longer use (Caddy > Licenses > Deactivate License on that site, or from your usecaddy.com account), or upgrade to a higher plan.
- “Your license is not active for this URL.” — the key is valid but not activated for this site. Click Activate License on this site to register it.
- “Invalid license.” — double-check you’ve copied the full key with no extra spaces.
Staging and development sites on common hosts (WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways, Flywheel, and others) don’t count toward your activation limit — see staging license support.
Moving to a new site
Click Deactivate License on the old site first to free up the activation, then activate the key on the new site.
